EZNEC

Easy-to-use program for modeling and analyzing nearly any kind of antenna as well as similar components in its actual operating environment

EZNEC features an innovative 3D pattern display that allows you to highlight any azimuth or elevation "slice" and directly read the gain at any angle with a fully positionable cursor, or immediately switch to a 2D display for more detail. The program is specifically designed to be friendly and easy to use while taking full advantage of the powerful and versatile NEC-2 calculating engine. Not only is the app menu-driven, but you are able to make entries and changes are done directly by clicking on the desired parameter.

In addition to plotting the azimuth and elevation patterns, the program enables you to learn gain, feedpoint impedance, takeoff angle, sidelobe characteristics, f/b ratio, 3-dB pattern points as well SWR and its current distributions, just to name a few. Both the information and patterns can be displayed and printed, so you have them readily available whenever necessary.

According to the developer, you can describe the antenna and other nearby structures as a group of straight conductors where you can specify the diameter, length and orientation. The app enables you to add sources at feedpoints and you can enjoy realistic ground, transmission lines, loading coils, traps and other similar components. Using this description method, you can quickly analyze Yagis, quads, phased arrays, towers, loops nearly any type of antenna or parasitic structure.

System requirements

  • 800 X 640 (SVGA) or better graphics

Limitations in the unregistered version

  • The maximum number of segments allowed in any model is 20
  • You can't update the demo version with standard EZNEC maintenance updates
